Kimberly Mullen is a writer, advisor, and business owner, and a former executive whose work bridges ideas and practice. Rooted in literature, the arts, political theory, economics, and transnational affairs, her work explores how philosophy, governance, technology, and culture collide and evolve.

She obtained a Bachelor of Art in International Studies, with minors in Political Science and Psychology, from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Science in Global Affairs from New York University. She studied creative writing at the American University of Paris and Yale Writers’ Workshop, and completed executive education in Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy from MIT, as well as a research fellowship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) in Prague, Czech Republic and Vienna, Austria. She was a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Her professional background spans finance, asset management, and transnational security. She most recently founded two ventures, Nellum & Co Global and Le Signal. Previously, she held roles at Bridgewater Associates, a global macro hedge fund, and Bloomberg L.P. / Geller & Co.

She champions the arts, technological advancements, neuroscience, marine conservation initiatives, and advocates for trauma recovery and survivors of exploitation, sexual assault and intimate partner violence. She had the unique experience of being an international model, and competing at MissUSA and on CBS’s Survivor, experiences that provided firsthand insight into game theory, social structure, and the complexities of human behavior. In her free time, Kimberly is a mother and wife, runner (one marathon, several half-marathons), traveler who has explored five continents and nearly every state in the United States. She is also an avid skier, yogi, certified rescue scuba diver, tennis player, and proud wrangler of her extra-large and lovable dog.

“In a lifetime we have many options, but not being curious, not seeking truth and knowledge, not understanding people and civilizations, past and present, throughout the cycles of humanity while not enjoying our time on Earth, those aren’t optional for me. It’s imperative to who I am, and in how my partner and I are raising our child.”
